Agoo town in La Union converts fiesta spending into fuel subsidy

CALASIAO, PANGASINAN, Philippines — The town of Agoo, in La Union province scaled down its celebration of the “21st Agoo Dinengdeng Festival and Patronal Town Fiesta” in May amid the current energy crisis. With it, the local government reallocated the budget to fuel subsidy for affected sectors like tricycle drivers and operators, fisherfolk and farmers.
