American action star Chuck Norris dies at 86

MANILA, Philippines – American action star Chuck Norris died on Friday, March 20, his family announced on his official social media pages. He was 86. “He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives,” his family said. Norris top billed many high-powered movies throughout his career, such as Missing in Action, Code of Silence, Invasion USA, and Forced Vengeance, to name a few. He was also in numerous TV series, including Walker, Texas Ranger; Sons of Thunder, and Karate Kommandos. “While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived, and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends,” they added, reassuring fans that he was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed on. He was also a martial artist who excelled across multiple disciplines such as taekwondo and karate, and starred in many of Bruce Lee’s films. “As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time. Thank you for loving him with us.” The late star — whose real name is Carlos Ray Norris — died just over a week after celebrating his 86th birthday on March 10. He was reportedly hospitalized just before his death. Norris is survived by his five children, Dakota Alan Norris, Eric Norris, Dina Norris, Mike Norris, and Danilee Kelly Norris, and his wife, Gena O’Kelley, whom he married in 1998.
