DepEd to ‘gradually’ stop grade transmutation policy

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) will gradually halt the implementation of its “transmutation system” wherein underperforming students can still advance to the next grade level despite the lack of necessary academic skills, Education Secretary Sonny Angara said on Thursday. Speaking at an interview over dzRH radio, Angara again acknowledged the findings by
