MANILA, Philippines — Former House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and the Lakas-Christian-Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) are mourning the passing of former Pangasinan representative and speaker Jose de Venecia, noting that the fallen legislator was a pillar of Philippine democracy. In a statement on Tuesday, Romualdez said de Venecia, one of the founders of Lakas’ precursor,
