Taal Volcano logs slight rise in sulfur emissions; seismic activity low

LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Taal Volcano recorded a slight increase in sulfur dioxide emissions, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Thursday. In its morning bulletin, Phivolcs said the volcano emitted 1,625 metric tons of sulfur dioxide from its main crater over the past 24 hours, a level still classified as “weak.”
