MANILA, Philppines – On February 25, 1986, they walked along EDSA to oust Ferdinand E. Marcos, whose family and associates stole from government coffers. Under his term, thousands of his rivals and critics were jailed, disappeared, or killed. Four decades later, they returned to the same road as the country again wrestles with corruption – this time under the rule of Marcos’ son and namesake, Ferdinand Jr. Still, their hope for a better country remains.
